If the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
(John 8:36)
Freedom
brings joy and happiness. But the freedom obtained could
turn out disastrous when misused. So, we ought to be very cautious in
preserving our freedom.
Everywhere in the world people want freedom. They want to experience and live in freedom, freedom from problems and pain. The devil builds strongholds in the mind and keeps the people captive in it. The Bible says, “If the Son (Jesus Christ) makes you free, you shall be free indeed” (John 8:36). Once when delivered, people tend to mishandle freedom. They fail to follow the instructions, commandments of God and follow the ways of the world. They are ensnared by the ways of world and fall into the same pit.
To experience the freedom in life, you must be filled with the Holy Spirit. All the bondages will be broken. The Bible says, "Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage" (Galatians 5:1).
The Bible further urges us to be filled with the Spirit always (Ephesians 5:18). When we surrender ourselves to the Lord, anointing will flow into us. The more we surrender ourselves, the more anointing will flow into our lives. Yes, our submission to the Lord determines the level of anointing in our lives. When filled with the Spirit, we become strong spiritually and be armed with power to resist temptations. It is wise and best to begin the day by spending time in prayer with the Lord Jesus Christ.
My dear friend, you may be set free from bondage, but the world we live in is full of evil. The devil is always at work like a roaring as whom he may devour. He will speak to us through our thoughts. He will lure us with temptations of our old ways but we should never yield to any of his temptations. Depression is a weapon of the satan and he tries to attack us with it at every opportunity. When we yield to it, we tend to fall prey to our old sinful habits. It is we who have to guard our freedom by keeping ourselves engaged with the spiritual activities like reading the Bible or Spirit filled books, be filled with the Word of God, listening to anointed music /messages. As we keep ourselves engaged in the spiritual environment, the devil cannot have access to us.
By these simple things, we can guard our freedom. God bless you.
Prayer
Loving Heavenly Father,
Help me to watch my steps and guide me on the way of life. Help me to be more attentive to Your voice. Father, give me grace to submit myself to you and let more of Your anointing flow into me. Strengthen my inner person and give me power to crush satan’s ways. I surrender myself into Your loving hands. In Jesus matchless' name, I pray.
