Anil Kant comes from a Hindu-Punjabi family. His parents being very devout and religious, taught Anil all the Hindu scriptures from a young age.  With all the spiritual guidance from his parents, but Anil was searching for more  and the questions he had in his mind were still unanswered.

Anil Kant started writing, composing and singing at a young age of twelve. He took it as a profession at the age of eighteen, while studying in University. He met his wife, Reena and they got married in 1986. After getting married, he along with his wife spent three years in Singapore and ten years in Indonesia pursuing a career in music that put Anil on the fast track to fame and prosperity giving ghazal shows & performances, traveling frequently all over the world.

At the same time, Anil Kant continued his search for the truth as he had been longing for a deeper relationship with God.  During this time some close friends invited him to train their church choir in Indian music. During these training sessions in church, the love of Jesus was being shared with him. They prayed consistently for Anil’s family while he resisted it. Anil found this love which the believers shared very different yet he did not give it much thought and his heart was closed though the words of Jesus stayed in his mind.

That very year in 1999, Anil returned to India along with his family and set up Trinity Studio. He found an unknown hand leading and guiding him throughout this time. He remembered that Jesus said I will guide you with my own eyes and direct your path. But  there were still many confusions in his mind.

One night in a very troubled state of mind, he picked up the Bible, hoping to get some answers from it. He cried out wishing to speak to God and put an end to his inner search for truth. Anil’s prayer had always been asatoma sadgamaya, tamaso maa jyothir gamaya, mrithyur maa amrutam gamaya ( take me from untruth to truth, from darkness to light and from death to eternity). As he was praying and flipping the pages of the bible, a verse came in front of him from John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.” That very moment it was as if all the questions were answered instantly. Anil kept aside all the doubts and fears which were in his mind and invited Jesus in to his heart. A powerful presence of God descended upon him and Anil experienced a heavy burden removed and the truth set him free.

Now began his real test of faith where he had to share the Gospel with his wife and children. It was very hard on the family to break their traditional thoughts and the social fears. Anil began to lift his family at the feet of Jesus. His desire was that he and Reena be water baptized together.  He stood on the promise of God where in Acts 16.31 it says “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved – you and your household”. God is true to his word and Anil got his entire family to Jesus in 2001 and found great inner peace.

Then he dedicated himself completely to use his talents for the Lord and recorded his first Gospel album in 2002 and since then, Anil Kant has released 15 Gospel Albums. His songs are mostly word based (bible scriptures) because it is the word that breaks the yoke. It brings the anointing and the presence of God in our lives. His two children, Shreya and Rishabh have given their lives to the Lord and together they are serving Him as a family.

Anil Kant was ordained as a Pastor in the year 2007. The Lord put in his heart to begin a Satsang, a contextualized church model which is a Fellowship relevant to our Indian Culture, reaching out to the unreached. For the past four years, Pastor Anil Kant is holding weekly satsang fellowship called ‘Ashram of Life’ in Andheri (West), Mumbai.
