When we
humble ourselves before the Lord Jesus and seek His forgiveness, He will
cleanse us with His precious blood.
Dearly
beloved,
When the Lord Jesus sat down to eat with a Pharisee, a woman who lived in sin came and washed His feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. Moreover, she poured the costly oil at His feet. She humbled herself by her deed confessing that she was a sinner by her actions. She did these actions in front of all the others, unmindful of them.
All the others said, “Oh! She is sinner” but the Lord Jesus said, “I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven--for she loved much.” The woman abhorred the love of the world, status and glory. She was not bothered as to what the people might say, but humbled herself at the feet of the Lord Jesus. Therefore He said to her, "Your sins are forgiven" (Luke 7: 36-48). Thus, her sins were truly forgiven and her life changed.
That is the heart of our Lord! When we humble ourselves and return to Him without being ashamed as to what others would say, and confess, “Lord, You gave Your life for me! You shed Your blood for me! I love You! I need You and not the world and its sin.” Then He will say, “My daughter! My son! You loved Me much, your sins that are many are forgiven for you.”
When my son Sam and daughter Sharon were very young, they would be playing happily in my presence. But suddenly, some tiff would arise between the two. One day, when we were busy in our work, my son hit my daughter. She screamed at the top of her voice. I became angry and I spanked him. He started crying. I hardened my heart and said, “Cry, how you dare hit that small child? Is it paining now?” Then I continued with my work. After sometime, he came to me whimpering and said, “Sorry daddy, I will not beat Sharon again.” Those words broke my heart. I hugged him and kissed him. Only then his heart rejoiced.
1 John 1:9 says that if we go to the Lord and confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive and forget our sins. When we love Him and submit our lives to Him, He will cleanse us from all sins with the blood that He shed on the Cross.
Yes! The blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s Son, cleanses us from all sins.
So do not worry! There is Someone who is able to remove our sins! We shall go to Him happily. He says, "I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions, for My own sake, and remembers your sins no more” (Isaiah 43:25; Micah 7:19). As said in II Corinthians 5:17, being filled the fullness of Christ, we shall be transformed into His image. He shall make us a new creation.
The Bible says, “If we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin” (1 John 1:7). God dwells in the light. Only when we walk in the light of His holiness, we can have a close relationship with Him; the precious blood of the Lord Jesus makes us holy.
