HOUSE BUILT ON CHRIST

By  Evangeline Dhinakaran

Dearly beloved,

The Bible says, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household" (Acts 16:31). Yes, the Lord wants to build your household also and each member of your family.

A house is raised by brick after brick. Once it reaches a certain level, using the plumb line, the walls are examined to see whether they are vertically straight or crooked.

Accordingly, our words, actions and conduct are like bricks that builds our life. Won’t the walls appear crooked and inclined on one side if even a single brick is not properly placed?

Similarly, when we fail even in a very small matter, our family life will collapse. But when we keep the Lord as our foundation and build our life, it would be strong and firm. Sometimes when a fault is committed, like testing the wall, and when you go to the Lord and cry out to Him saying, “Lord, I have done this mistake. Please forgive me,” He will build your life straight.

Joshua, the aide of Moses said, “But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD" (Joshua 24:15). Like Joshua, take a decision saying, “Me and my house shall serve the Lord. Somehow we will win souls for Him.” In a wonderful way, the Lord will build your life and use you among your family, friends and relatives.

The Bible advises, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5). As said in the above verse, instead of relying on your own wisdom to build your family, humbly seek the wisdom of God. When your home is built on the Rock of Christ, it shall remain firm. Nothing can shake it.
