PRAYING FOR ONE ANOTHER

By Paul Dhinakaran

Dearly beloved,

The Bible relates, “After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he had before” (Job 42:10).

Yes, the Lord granted double fold blessing to Job who prayed for others. When you too pray for your colleagues, relatives, friends, acquaintances and for those who are in sickness and affliction, the Lord will do the same for you.

The Lord Jesus wept for loss. He wept looking at the lost city and the people of the city (Luke 19:41). You too support the ministries and rise up to shed tears and pray for the nation.

When you pray for others, God will remove your captivity. The Lord will make you receive twice as much as you had till now, as He did for Job and restored everything to him in double measure.

The Lord Jesus also wept seeing Martha and Mary who had lost their brother Lazarus (John 11:35). He wept for them and made their brother rise from the dead. This is what we are doing through the 59 Jesus Calls Prayer Towers: we cry for the people in the name of Jesus. It is the Lord Jesus who died for them on the Cross. He revives and raises them up.

Not only that, according to Hebrews 5:7, the Lord Jesus cried for Himself. In the Garden of Gethsemane, He asked His disciples to pray for Him but they slept off (Matthew 26:40,43). There was no one to cry for Him but He cried for His disciples.

The Bible says, “Pray for each other...the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective” (James 5:16). The supplication of an upright man has great power and yields successful results. Hence let us pray for others and be blessed by God.
