SEEK THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Speaker:  Stella Dhinakaran

The Bible says, “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires” (Galatians 5:24).

How many of us can say, “I belong to Christ?” Those who fully submit themselves to the Lord and desire to do that which He likes, unmindful of others’ opinions, are the ones who belong to the Lord! They are the ones who have crucified their flesh, its desires and lusts on the Cross. The Lord has borne everything for us on the Cross. What we have to do is to crucify our desires, lusts and all worldly things on the Cross!

I am the last child to my parents. My mother was a strict disciplinarian and my father was very fond of me. Very often, I would do mischievous things and disobey my mother. When I was in my teenage, I had thick hair. I would adorn it with a lot of flowers and dress beautifully; I led a jolly good life. But one day, the Lord filled me with His Holy Spirit. At that moment, I had zeal in my heart to live for Him and relinquish all that is of the world. I counted everything as nothing and He completely changed my worldly desires.

My dear children! Out of the love that springs forth from the depth of your heart, you become one with the Lord; at that moment, He gives you a thirst. That thirst removes worldly desires and lusts from you!

Today, many have fixed their gaze on the world! Dearly beloved! When we seek the kingdom of the Lord and His righteousness, the Lord will grant us worldly things also (But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.-
Matthew 6:33). Seek the Lord whenever you get time. Pray in His presence; talk to Him always. Meditate on His words. The Bible says that whoever is faithful over a few shall be made a ruler over many things! I sought the Lord like that.

If you too would ask, “Lord, bless me also,” then the Lord will give us His mind. He will remove the lust of the world and the pride of life. And He will give you a mind and desire to live for the Lord; you shall be filled with Him! The extent to which we are filled by Him, we imbibe His character that much. We have to dwell in the Lord and Him in us. It is a matter of being united with the Lord!

“Our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ” (1 John 1:3), says John the apostle. How many of us can say that our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ? The Lord will give us this sweet life! If we are filled with the fruits of righteousness, He will prepare us for His coming (Philippians 1:10,11). Patience is one of His traits. He will give us this virtue and bless us!

When you give the first place to God’s Kingdom and pursue godliness, He will also take care of all your needs.
