Dearly
beloved, Lord Jesus Christ traversed through the path of death and nailed all
the powers and fear of death on the cross at Calvary.
It is stated in the Bible, “By abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.” (Ephesians 2:15, 16).
The Spirit of God descends into us because Lord Jesus Christ offered Himself as a sacrifice for us. Lord Jesus Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit, conquered death and has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
The Holy Spirit resurrected the body of Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 8:11). Lord Jesus Christ pleaded, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me,” but when the Holy Spirit descended and strengthened Him, He said, “Nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”
In this world, whatever befalls you, never be dismayed because everything happens according to the will of God. Whether you are employed or not, wealthy or not, have influence or not, the will of God will come to pass in your life. The Holy Spirit gives us the hope, “I will humble myself under the mighty hand of God and He will exalt me and lift me up at His appointed time.”
Lord Jesus Christ gave Himself as a sacrifice with the hope that His heavenly Father would surely resurrect Him. The statement of Job, “Even if He slays me, yet will I trust Him” is the hope given by the Holy Spirit to you. When the fear of death grips you, the Holy Spirit within you says, “My child! Don’t worry. You will live to see God’s plan unfurl in your life.” A ray of hope sent by the Holy Spirit pierces through the fear of death to resurrect us.
If you were to look at the world and the trouble it holds, certainly you are prone to be gripped by the fear of death. On the contrary, when the Holy Spirit fills our hearts, He reminds us of the victory of Lord Jesus Christ on the cross and grants us divine hope.
St. Paul and those who were aboard on a ship were about to be shipwrecked. The fear of death gripped everyone. It was then an angel of God appeared to Paul, foretold what would happen and strengthened him. Paul made this prophetical word known to his fellow passengers and they were liberated from the fear of death (Acts 27:20-23). The prophetical word given by the Holy Spirit was more than enough to deliver Paul and others from the fear of death.
When Lord Jesus Christ was overwhelmed with sorrow in the Garden of Gethsemane, the Holy Spirit descended and showed Him those things that were going to happen in future. The Holy Spirit strengthened Him to go through crucifixion stating that the heavenly Father would grant Him the name above all names, the authority over satan and the hosts of heaven.
So saying, the Holy Spirit requested Lord Jesus Christ to traverse through the path of being crucified at Calvary. Lord Jesus Christ has given us the Comforter to lead and guide us in our daily life. The Holy Spirit will strengthen us when we call upon the name of Lord Jesus Christ (John 16:13.). Therefore be of good cheer!
