RISE UP WITH STRENGTH

By Stella Dhinakaran

Dearly beloved,

The Lord is the strength of our life and an ever-present help in trouble.

Dejection is common in everyone’s life. It can affect the heart of anyone who is filled with agony. But Lord Jesus Christ alone is able to deliver us from this ‘dejection’ and guard us since He too had gone through the same path. He felt forsaken as He hung on the cross. At that time, He cried out to God saying, “My God! My God! Why have You forsaken me?”

Why did He cry so despite being the Son of God? God allowed this in His life in order to make Him feel the agony and suffering that each one of us undergo in times of our forsaken state. Hence whenever dejection crops up in your life, remember that the Lord Jesus who went through it and overcame it successfully will help you and deliver you.

Why did He cry so, despite being the Son of God? God allowed this in His life in order to make Him feel the agony and suffering each one of us undergo when such forsaken state occurs in our life. Hence, whenever dejection crops up in our life, the Lord Jesus who went through it and overcame it successfully will help us and deliver us.

The Bible says, “(The Lord) He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak” (Isaiah 40:29). It also says, “If you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength!” (Proverbs 24:10). How to receive divine strength and become victorious in life? When you hold on to the Lord placing your trust on Him and wait at His feet, He will fill you with His divine strength. With this strength, you can be victorious in life.

In my life too, many were the times when I was distressed on all sides. At such times, I surrendered my every single burden at the feet of the Lord Jesus the Hill from where comes my help. This is what is explained in Hebrews 12:1: “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” Then the worries and dejection that enfold us will flee from us and divine strength will fill us. Then we will start praising the Lord instead of worrying in vain.

The Bible answers, “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:31). Those who wait for the Lord in faith shall rise up with new strength. They will run the race of faith and not lose heart. They will walk the journey of life and never give up.
